We all know how much we use our phones, but do we actively think about how our impulsive phone usage could be impacting industries of work? Well, with every video you stream from your mobile device, our world is being shaped and altered.
For many years, television has dominated the advertisement world mainly because of the audience that it drew. However, with many different screens and options to view either television shows and sporting events, television has more competition than ever. “Cord-cutters” is the name of those who are venturing out of their cable subscriptions and are fully investing into viewing their entertainment from a laptop, phone or tablet. More and more people are shifting to this style of life, and this is why businesses are updating their strategies. It was predicted that more money would be invested into digital ads than television ads by the end of 2016. But where are people doing most of their watching online? Well, let’s just say that YouTube is a common stopping place for many online. There are currently 1,300,000,000 people that use YouTube. Here’s a reminder that there are currently 7.347 billion people on Earth, so this is a very high percentage of people that browse YouTube. Something else that is shocking: Every minute there are 300 hours of video uploaded to YouTube! These stats are an indicator for this next one: By 2025, half of people under the age of 32 will not subscribe to a pay-TV service. This is television’s worst nightmare. And it is time that your organization prepare now for what is to come.
